TIMLIN, William A. (1893-1943, author and illustrator). The Ship that Sailed to Mars. London: George G. Harrap, [1923]. 4to (305 x 230mm). 48 leaves of calligraphic text in 3 colours and 48 coloured plates by Timlin, all mounted on grey paper (2 grey leaves with short clean tears). Original vellum-backed grey boards, spine decorated in gilt (spine and front cover spotted, endpapers browned and spotted, extremities very lightly rubbed), dust-jacket (a little soiled, with clean closed tear, repairs with brown paper at edges). Provenance: "James M. From F. K. K. Xmas, 1923. A [?]Messager from Mars to Pao, & families! With all good wishes" (inscription on front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION.
