A DECORATIVE PANEL OF EIGHT CUERDA SECA POTTERY TILES
Iran, 17th - 18th century

Comprising eight square tiles joint with plaster, painted in turquoise, black and yellow against a white ground, the horizontal panel depicting a typical hatayi pattern, including scrolling and spiraling vegetal trellis, stylised lotus flowers, heart-shaped palmettes, buds and blossomed flowers, set within a later wooden frame, 45.8cm x 86cm including the frame.
