THREE RECTANGULAR HISPANO-MORESQUE ARISTA POTTERY TILES
Possibly Seville, Post-Nasrid Spain, 17th - 18th century
Comprising three architectural tiles, each of rectangular shape, press-moulded in the Spanish Arista technique leaving raised unglazed outlines, painted in yellow, green, brown and blue, the decoration consisting of eight-pointed stellar designs amidst knotwork bands and polygonal geometric motifs, mounted and joined on a later black wooden board, the full set 82cm x 14cm.
