A George III sterling silver argyle, London 1772 by Walter Brind (this mark reg. 11th Oct 1757)
Of inverted baluster form with a gadrooned foot rim. The curved tubular spout at a right angle to a wicker clad C scroll strap handle. The domed pull off lid with gadrooned edge surmounted by a bell form finial. The reverse with an unmarked hinged lid to the internal hot water well. The side with a large contemporaneous crest of a lion rampant. Fully marked to the lower reverse, makers mark and lion passant underneath, the lid with lion passant only to the bezel.
