A George III sterling silver argyle, London 1768 by Aaron and William Lestourgeon (reg. 17th Nov 1767)

Of double truncated conical form with a gadrooned foot rim. The curved tubular spout at a right angle to a wooden C scroll handle. The hinged domed lid with a gadrooned rim, incised with concentric circles and a shell form hinge junction, surmounted by a detachable wooden compressed knop finial. The reverse with an unmarked hinged lid to the internal hot water well. Fully marked to the left of handle, the lid with lion passant only to the bezel.
