A rare Chinese doucai 'chrysanthemum' jar, Qing dynasty, Qianlong mark and of the period
清乾隆 鬪彩番蓮團菊紋罐 青花《大清乾隆年製》篆書款

Of ovoid form, painted to the exterior with several medallions enclosing pairs of chrysanthemum flowerheads painted in red and yellow against leafy grounds, interspersed with stylised lotus flowers issuing from scrolling tendrils, all between bands of ruyi lappets, the base with a six-character Qianlong seal mark inscribed in underglaze-blue
