A FINE SILVER-GILT MOUNTED MEERSCHAUM PIPE SET IN OTTOMAN STYLE

The pipes with silver-gilt mounts with chased decoration of varying styles including rocaille work and split palmette scrollwork, each with pierced cavetto edges, the main pipe with a screw-fitted niello boss of hunters slaying a bear amidst vegetal motifs, each pipe mount stamped with pseudo-marks, possibly Austrian or Dutch (CO, a cross, an eagle, and a crown), gilt thread tassels, presented on a red velvet-lined fitted tray stored inside a cut pewter and brass-inlaid travelling case in Boulle style, the case 43cm wide.
