BRITISH SCRAPBOOK ALBUM, c.1850s
An album containing a selection of albumen prints (12), image size 9.7 x8cm (smallest) to 16.3 x21cm (largest). Subjects include mixed images of European and British street views, including Montpelier Crescent, Brighton, The Chapel of Exeter College, Oxford, a French villa of Ickelford Rectory, The Cross of the Holy Spirit in Dinan, France; together with three group and indvidual portraits. The scrapbook is compiled with hand-coloured drawings, artistic reproductions and manuscript poems and verses; some pages have paper's watermark 'J. Whatman Turkey Mill, 1834'.
