AN ANTIQUE SEYCHOUR KELLEH, SOUTH CAUCASUS

The abrashed deep blue field with bold polychrome radiating panels, linked by shaped floral panes, flanked by hooked and serrated lozenges together with small rosettes. In stylised running-dog ivory border between stepped rosette, striped panel, barber-pole and reciprocal stripes, approx: 284cm.x 144cm. Good example for this type with well drawn motifs and good colour combinaton. Apart of slight wear to the top pile, down to knot collar in few small places and slightly corroded charcoal-black, this rug has good pile. Selvages original with touches of rebound on cord and touches of slight fraying on wool cord. Ends with original kilim and fringes with slightly fraying kilim at one end. In general this piece is in very good usable condition. Attractive and very good furnishing rug.
