A late 19th century French 18 carat gold fitted sewing necessaire, Paris circa 1880 by Auguste Belleau (reg.1880, bif. 1881)
The worked ivory case of shaped cartouche form. Hinged push button release, the interior fitted with a gold needle case and bodkin, also with gold mounted steel scissors and a stiletto punch, and a matched Victorian silver gilt thimble, Chester 1895 by George Green (probably). The needle case and bodkin with makers mark and standard marks, standard mark to punch and scissors only, the thimble fully marked. The case hinge signed Delcroix A Paris.
