A pair of matching oblong folios, each titled 'Palestine & Syrie', together containing 103 albumen prints, c.1870s-1880s. Volume 1 includes (53) albumen prints primarily by Bonfils, depicting Holy Land sites throughout Palestine, each image approx 225 x 280mm (or the reverse), mounted recto and verso to blue card, most captioned and attributed in the negative, some with manuscript captions in lower margin. Volume 2 includes (50) albumen prints of the Palestine and Syria, most measuring 225 x 280 (or the reverse), primarily by Bonfils, mounted recto and verso to blue card, most captioned and attributed in the negative. Each set of print housed in matching oblong folios, half calf with marbled paper boards, gilt biding, each bearing the title 'Palestine & Syrie' and the name 'Monsieur & Mme Bacon de Sains", each measuring 330 x 430mm.
