A FINE KASHAN CARPET, CETRAL PERSIA

The field with meandering floral and leafy vine linking bold multicoloured serrated palmettes around deep indigo cusped floral medallion with pendants containing arabesques ivory shape centrepiece. Spandrels similar. In deep indigo border of bold polychrome palmettes, floral sprays and scrolling leaves between blue, ivory and green flowering vine stries. Outer reciprocal and plain stripes, approx: 12ft.5in. x 8ft.11in.(379cm. x 271cm.). Very good type with Dabir appearance. This carpet has good pile, fine wool quality. Selvages orriginal. Ends with short fringes, very slightly fraying. Colours are well blended. In general, this carpet is in very good usable condition. Fine weave, approx: 7 x 7 knots per sq. cm. Very good furnishing piece. Good type. Attractive.
