A Chinese famille-verte 'dragon' Tibetan-style ewer, penba hu, 18th/19th century
十八 / 十九世紀 五彩龍紋賁巴壺

The fine spherical body raised on a high splayed foot and surmounted by an elaborately formed knopped neck set with a flared upright mouth, the body decorated all in famille-verte, to both sides with dragons chasing a flaming pearl amidst flying bats and stylised ruyi clouds, the stepped neck is surmounted by a canopy-shaped mouth with slightly canted sides and rounding inwards to a narrow opening
