A pair of George II sterling silver sauce boats, London 1749 by Paul de Lamerie (Hertogenbosch 1688 - London 1751, this mark registered 27th June 1739)
Each of oval bellied form with a shaped rim with double C scroll handle with scroll junctions, raised upon four ribbed legs with shell feet and shaped junctions. Each engraved to the front with a crest of a falcon close surmounted by an Earl’s coronet. Each fully marked underneath. (2)

The crest is for Boscawen
For either Edward Boscawen, 1st Earl of Falmouth (1787 – 1841), known as the Viscount Falmouth between 1808 and 1821, or his son George Henry Boscawen, 2nd Earl of Falmouth (1811 – 1852), died without issue and the Earldom became extinct.
A pair of sauce boats of 1742 by Paul de Lamerie of similar form and legs, with the additions of shells to the sides, was sold Sotheby’s London, 10 May 2016, lot 12 (£47,500 incl. prem)
A pair of William and Mary candlesticks, London 1692 by TB, bearing this crest and coronet are known.
