A Chinese armorial saucer and a 'European subject' saucer, Qing dynasty, 18th century
清十八世紀 紋章圖盤及西洋人物圖盤一組兩件

Comprising an armorial saucer with the arms of Lord Falconer of Halkerton, the foliate dish painted to the interior with a coat of arms formed as a pair of grisaille birds flanking a blue enamel shield with the motto 'Vive ut vivas' ('Live that you may have life'), together with an en grisaille dish of the same shape decorated with European figures in a leafy landscape
