Opaque pigments, white wash, and pencil on wove paper, comprising three vertical compositions portraying Indian craftsmen absorbed in their daily activities, the first portrait with a bangle jeweller staining in a variety of colours clusters of typical wedding bangles stacked on a wooden cone, the craftsman seated in front of a brazier and rolling the raw pigment over the bangles, a pencil inscription in cursive Devanagari script at the bottom; another with a gem trader cutting and sizing loose gemstones on a wheel; and the last portrait with two blacksmiths producing jewellery tools and metal bangles, a pencil inscription in Urdu at the bottom; each mounted, glazed and framed, each folio 23.5cm x 19.5cm, 45.5cm x 38.5cm including the frame.
