Opaque pigments and white wash on wove and laid paper, comprising two vertical compositions portraying Indian tradesmen in the market, the first portrait with a Muslim halal butcher cutting a piece of meat, his wife fanning him with a dried palm leaf; the latter with a woman selling vegetables and measuring them on a traditional scale, mounted, glazed and framed, the largest folio 24cm x 20cm, each 45.5cm x 38.5cm including the frame.
