first edition, half-title, 34 (of 35) engraved plates of table settings, lacking the Coronation plate, some folding or double-page, 4pp. advertisements at end, a few plates creased or slightly frayed or a little closely trimmed, contemporary panelled calf, red leather lettering label, rebacked, rubbed, Printed for Abel Roper, and sold by John Morphew, near Stationers-Hall, 1710 *** The present copy, with 35 plates, conforms with the printed Contents of the Tables list. § La Chapelle (Vincent) The Modern Cook, first edition, Vol.III only (of 3), contemporary mottled calf, gilt, worn, red leather lettering label, contemporary gift presentation to title-page from a Mr. John Prince to a Wm. Gunter (?), 1799, with the bookplate of the former, early ownership signature to free end-paper, Printed for the Author, Sold by Nicolas Prevost, at the Ship over-against Southampton-street in the Strand, 1733, 8vo.
