Possibly Mysore or Tanjore, Southern India, ca. 1820 - 1840
Opaque pigments and white wash on wove paper, the vertical composition depicting a manual harvesting scene with two South Indian farmers cutting bunches of wheat with a sickle and piling them up for collection, the crop in front of them partitioned in squares, mounted, glazed and framed, the folio 23.2cm x 19.8cm, 45cm x 38cm including the frame.
