A FINE QUM RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA

The ivory field with overall diagonal rows of stylised multicoloured boteh motif, surrounded by angular floral arabesques. In sang-de-boeuf border of boteh, stylised angular trees and delicate floral meander between lightb-blue flowering vive, part cartouche and plain stripes, approx: 208cm. x 142cm. This rug has a very good colour combination and well drawn design. Classic for this type. Apart of very slight wear on cord edges towards one corner, this rug has full pile of soft wool quality. Ends with very short fringes with slight fraying in few places. Selvages original. Very fine weave of 8 x 7 knots per sq.cm. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Good furnishing piece.
