Opaque pigments, pencil and ink on wove paper, each vertical composition depicting one of the Indian characters portrayed in one of the folios from the Fraser Album, known as Six Recruits, now part of the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery collection (inv. no. S1999.1), the study copying individual characters instead of the full group, focusing particularly on the rendering of their skin tones and folds on their white dhoti (white cloth used as short trousers), each portrait mounted on a white cardboard frame, each 37.3cm x 26.3cm.
