An early 20th century German 935 standard silver, enamel, lacquer, and marcasite cigarette case

Of rectangular form with a hinged lid to a stepped engine turned thumbpiece. The top and sides inlaid with enamel to resemble lapis lazuli. The centre of the lid with black lacquer and four rhombi forming a line, each with their top half with white translucent enamel and the bottom with rows of marcasite. The underside with engine turned decoration. Gilt interior, marked 935, maker's mark SA, and London import marks.
