A pair of albums of albumen prints (109 and 115 each), image size 16 x26.8cm (smallest) to 28 x23cm (largest), pasted down onto album pages recto/verso, overall measuring 30 x39.7cm, most captioned, numbered, and signed in the negative. Subjects include view of a crowd of pilgrims entering Bethlem on Christmas Day; a general view of Bethlem and the Nativity Church; various views of famous landmarks and religious sites in Jerusalem, such as the Jaffa Door, the Omar Mosque, the Calvary Sanctuary, the Holy Sepulchre; the Tomb of the Virgin and Cave of the agony, the Valley of Jehoshaphat, between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives; street views of Jerusalem, including the Stations of the Cross across the city; a wayfarer on his way to Jerusalem; views of Damascus, Lebanon; Lod, Palestine; many views of the ancient classical temples and sculptures in Baalbek and Athens, such as the Temple of Jupiter, the Chapel of Douris, sculptures from the Parthenon, and the Acropolis. The album also includes portraits by Zangaki and Bonfils, such as young Syrian women in traditional clothes and a young boy bringing a tray; a portrait of a young boy with his donkey; a woman from Bethlem in traditional clothes; a young Lebanese woman wearing a tantour, among others.
