AN UNUSUAL PART COTTON WEST PERSIAN KELLEH

The charcoal-black field with various multicoloured angular floral motifs together with human and animal figures together with angular trees. Central ivory and abrashed rust double pole- lozenge medallions with similar motifs. In abrashed camel-beige border of shaped and linked panels between linked lozenge, panelled and zig-zag stripes, approx; 9ft.7in. x 4ft.3in.(291cm. x 130cm.) Very good type and very nicely drawn design with lots of differed motifs. White cotton used in some of the motifs. Ends with original wide embroidered kilim and fringes. Selvages original. Apart of touches of slight wear to the top pile in few small places, barely visible, this piece has full pile of soft wool quality and is in very good usable condition. Attractive and elegant rug. Dated AH 1349 (1930 AD)
