An early 20^th century American gold overlay silver cigarette case, circa 1920

Of curved rectangular form with rounded corners. Push button release with a collet set cabochon paste. The body with chased alligator textured pattern over two-colour gold overlay with silver. Only marked to the interior edge with an obscured mark, possibly a French guarantee mark.
