AN ANTIQUE SHAHSAVAN RUNNER, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The indigo field with overall diagonal rows of stylised open floral boteh. In an ivory border of multicoloured serrated lozenge panels between sandy-yellow angular flowering vine stripes. Outer palmette vine abd barber-pole stripes, approx; 372cm., x 104cm. Very nicely drawn design with good colour combination. This runner has slight ear to the pile, down to knoe collars in places showing weft. One end with slight loss to the guard stripe. Selvages and ends secured. In general this runner is in decent usable conditon. Despite imperfection it is a good furnishing piece with good size.
