A Victorian sterling silver sugar basket, London 1851 by Charles Riley and George Storer
Of rounded form with a cast and applied scrolling rim, raised on four open work scroll bracket feet. The body with pierced decoration of strapwork scroll with a shield shape cartouche engraved with initials GD in cursive script. The openwork swing handle with flower heads. Fitted with a turquoise glass liner with scalloped rim. Fully marked near foot and stamped 443, part-marked to handle.
