AN ANTIQUE SOUTH CAUCASIAN RUNNER

The shaded rust field with single column of multicoloured hooked and stewpped medallions flanked by small checkered lozenges at each side. Inner archaic design green and rust stripe. In an ivory border of polychome rosettes between arrowhead and barber-pole stripes, approx: 11ft.6in. x 3ft.(350cm. x 91cm.) Very good type and nicely drawn design, bold appearance. Colours are well balanced. This runner has slightly corroded black and slight wear to the pile, down to knot collar. Selvages fraying in places with small areas of missing cord. Ends with short fringes also touches of fraying. In general this runner is in decent usable condition. Very attractive and elegant piece despite the imperfections which are reflected in an estimate.
