A Victorian sterling silver christening mug, London 1842 by Benjamin Preston

Of rounded form raised upon four cast and applied acanthus scroll feet. The body with embossed decoration of vignettes of convolvulus flowers between C scrolls and lattice work reserves. An acanthus capped C scroll handle. Traces of gilding to the interior. Fully marked to left of handle.
