Paris circa 1940 by Helluin-Mattlinger for Boucheron
A mid-20th century French 800 standard silver, gold, and gem set compact

Rectangular form, with a hinged lid to an angular thumbpiece. The lid decorated with an applied gold cased pierced grill of trellis work, with flowers with collet set ruby centres, attended to by three butterflies.Reeded underside.The interior with double hinged reeded compartments, one with mirror the other with powder. Marked with boar's head and Maker’s mark H7M, assay marks signed to lid interior BOUCHERON – PARIS and numbered 83306 and B No 875014.
