A George III sterling silver salver, London 1765 by T.H over I.C indented, probably for Thomas Hannam & John Carter
Of shaped-circular form, with scroll and shell rim, raised on three pad feet, the centre engraved with a naïve impaled coat of arms with a bright cut engraved oval cartouche within crossed leaf branches, all surmounted by a crest of a wolf statant. Fully marked to the reverse.
Diameter – 22.5 cm / 8.8 inches
Weight – 468 grams / 15 ozt
This mark is a footnote in Grimwade for Hannam's later mark referenced as being found in 1765. It would have been in the lost 1758-1773 Largeworkers Register.
