A George III sterling silver bougie box, Sheffield 1777 by Richard Morton and Co
Of cylindrical form with beaded rims, a beaded C scroll handle, the pull off gently domed lid with a cylindrical opening. Together a later provincial conical snuffer, York circa 1830 by James Barber, George Cattle II & William North. The side and the snuffer engraved with a crest of a twin headed eagle displayed. Fully marked underneath, the lid with lion passant and maker’s mark, the snuffer with maker’s mark only.
