AN ANTIQUE PEREPEDIL RUG, EAST CAUCAUSUS

The shadded indigo field with hooked and serrated panels, various small motifs, stylised animals and stylised ram-horns. In an ivory border of serrated lozenges and battons between angular floral vine, arrow-head and barber-pole stripes, approx.180cm x 118cm. Classic design for this style. Nice colours and well drawn motifs. This rug has slight wear to the top pile, visible on close inpsection. The charcoal-black is slightly corroded. Salvgaes rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes secured. In general this rug is good usable condition. Attractive and popular type at present market.
