Qing Dynasty, Qianlong mark and of the period

清乾隆 醬釉盃

《大清乾隆年製》款

The delicately potted cup formed with deeply curved sides rising from a short, straight foot to a gently everted rim, the exterior decorated with a lustrous brown glaze speckled with a covering of darker spots and thinning to a pale tone around the rim, the white-glazed base inscribed with a six-character Qianlong seal mark in underglaze blue,

5.5cm diameter, 4.1cm high

Two small bowls, decorated with a similar brown glaze and potted with similar features, were sold at Sotheby's London, 8th November 2006, lots 237 and 238.
