Fine commemorative spoons such as these were likely retailed by P.G. Dodd and Son Ltd of 42 Cornhill London EC. 3, who was certainly retailing R. E. Stone’s Royal commemoratives. The adaptation of the Edward VIII spoon can be understood with an advertisement that Dodd took out in Country Life for the George VI souvenirs whereby he states “All dishes illustrated in the March Number can be had with coronation medals at rather lower prices”, which illustrated Edward VIII souvenirs.
