A CUSTOM MADE CIGAR HUMIDOR FOR EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES (LATER KING EDWARD VIII) BY ROYAL JAMAICA CIGAR COMPANY

with rare stamp "Specially selected and packed for HRH Prince of Wales" on inner side of lid, attractive inlaid wood finish showing the island of Jamaica on top of the lid, a geometric pattern surround, the humidor meant to house cigars personally selected by the Prince of Wales according to his taste, 11 x 40 x 19.5cm, c. 1930s; with original key and a black and white press photograph of Edward and Wallis, at a event in Paris. (2)

Royal Jamaica Cigar Company, custom made and personalised, exclusively stamped humidors and commercial boxes with specially selected cigar leaf selections and packed them for Royal family members, distinguished figures and tobacco merchants such as Alfred Dunhill Ltd - tobacco division on a special custom order basis.

This humidor was one of these examples made in the first half of 1930’s belonging to the late Prince of Wales, who had a passion for cigars.
