A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'BITTER MELLON' SAUCERS.

Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.

Each painted with a tangle of fruiting bitter melon creepers wrapped around sprays of bamboo, the rims with plain gilt bands, the exterior of the rims with four stylised bats and with stamp seal marks to the bases, 13cm diameter. (2)

Provenance: an English private collection.
