A FINE KASHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA

The deep -blue field with large multicoloured cypress tree and short column base flanked by single large floral vase. Similar part floral vase on inner side edges. Rust shaped cross panel above and below with rows of rosettes. In rust border of delicate floral and leafy sprays between flowering vine and panneled stripes. Outer plain stripe, approx: 6ft.4in. x 4ft.4in.(193cm. x 132cm.). Very nicely drawn design and good colour combination. This rug has slight wear to the top pile at one one down to knot collar, visible on closer inspection. Light wear touches in few other very small places, barely visible. Ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages repalced. In general this rug is in very good usable condition, despite imperfections and still retains elegance. Fine weave, approx: 7 x 6 knots per sq. cm. Attractive and good furnishing piece.
