A George IV sterling silver teapot, London 1820 by Joseph Craddock & William Kerr Reid (reg. 8th June 1812)

Of compressed ogee circular form, raised on four ridged scroll feet with rocaille mask junctions, the body all over decorated with embossed foilate scrolls and flower heads against a matted ground, with a cartouche to one side, engraved with a quartered coat of arms. The slightly domed hinged lid with embossed decoration surmounted by a detachable flower and leaf sprig finial. The later wooden C scroll handle opposite the spout with flower heads and rocaille decoration. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to lid, the final unmarked.
