London 1824 by William Elliott (this mark reg. 7th Sept 1813)
A pair of George IV sterling silver cast candlesticks

Each with tri-lobed scroll bases rising to a waisted and baluster knop column, the pull out sconces of broadly circular scroll form. The base with prominent reeded scrolls with punched textured reserves, foliage, and rocaille C scroll and scallop shells to the columns. Each fully marked to the base edge, the sconces unmarked. (2)

Height – 29.8 cm / 11.75 inches

Weight – 2251 grams / 72.37 ozt

William Elliott (1773-1855) formed a partnership with Joseph William Story (1781?-1864), a former apprentice of the smallworker Abstainando King (1764-1833) on the 6thOctober 1809 from their address, 25 Compton Street, Clerkenwell. Their partnership was dissolved in 1813.
