Frances Teresa Stewart, Duchess of Richmond and Lennox (8 July 1647 – 15 October 1702), was a notable figure at the Restoration Court, renowned for her refusal to become the mistress of King Charles II of England. Celebrated for her striking beauty, she earned the nickname La Belle Stuart and became the inspiration for an idealized representation of Britannia. She is also among the famous Windsor Beauties painted by Sir Peter Lely.
