A Japanese cast iron tea kettle (kama chagama), 19th - 20th century

The heavily cast iron tea kettle, kama chagama, robustly cast and of globular form, decorated overall in arare (hailstone) pattern with a thick ridge band at the lower half of the body, further adorned with two spiral-formed handles and together with a cover surmounted with a plum-blossom finial, together with a Japanese box and cover (tomobako)
