Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting a sunset scene with an Indian courtly lady relaxing on a low bed on a palatial terrace, an attendant fanning her and another playing the sitar for her, a sakhi showing to her lady the portrait of a young prince following the standard composition of 'the portrait in the portrait', on the upper right corner a prince looking down from the balcony to the ladies' gathering and rubbing his hands shyly and nervously, mounted, glazed and framed, 37cm x 30cm including the frame.
