Vienna circa 1925 by Georg Adam Scheid (1838-1921, reg. 1882)
An early 20th century Austrian 900 standard silver and enamel compact

Of shaped rectangular form, with a hinged lid with engraved scrollwork, edged with green guilloche enamel. Centring a shaped vaccant cartouche around white guilloche enamel with painted cherry blossoms. The edges with similar engraved scrollwork. The reserve with engine turned decoration. The gilt interior, fitted with mirror. Stamped with post 1921 Austrian assay mark, maker's mark and stamped 900.
