A Victorian sterling silver four bottle decanter stand, London 1842 by John and Henry Lias
Of shaped circular form with a shaped cavetto edge with a cast and chased rim with the emblems of the United Kingdom, the English rose, the Scottish thistle, and the Irish Shamrock, interspersed with acanthus leaves, all raised upon four openwork cast feet of rocaille and scrolls. The galleried moulded rings with four stopper rings with cast supports of foliate scrolls and rose heads, leading to a central carrying handle with a quad-furcated junction, a bulbous column with chased leaves leading to a rose head and rocaille C scroll handle. Fitted with four contemporaneous cut clear glass decanters, with diamond band and starburst stoppers. Fully marked to the base, part-marked to the handle.
