A mid-20^th century Italian 800 standard silver novelty centrepiece, retailed by Cartier New York

Formed as a basket of fruit, the woven base with a lift off section of various fruit; pineapple, bunches of grapes, pears, apples, figs. The fruit section stamped 800 to one of the leaves. The underneath of basket stamped CARTIER STERLING.
