Group of letters and cards signed by 19th century political, religious and scientific figures, addressed to Rev. Lloyd Morris, including: William Crooks (autograph card saying "The chances of my coming to Glasgow during the war are very remote. I cannot see a free date", 28 October 1915); Hugh Black (typed letter reading "I am sorry it is not possible for me to take the service you ask for in September. I expect to be in Scotland only for a very few days and will not take any engagements", 4 June 1910); Hugh Cecil (letter signed, declining Morris's invitation, 24 March 1909); Charles F. Aked (typed letter saying "I thank you for your kind invitation, but a holiday is for a holiday. I am not coming over to preach", 22 June 1909"); Donald MacAlister (autograph letter declining Morris's invitation to preside at the Livingstone Anniversary due to an important family anniversary on the same day, 23 August 1907); Halfrod Mackinder (autograph letter declining an invitation from Morris, 7 June 1918) and others, v.s. c. 1907-19018.
