TWO ILLUSTRATED FOLIOS WITH INTIMATE BANQUETING SCENES

Opaque pigments, ink and pencil heightened with gold on paper, comprising a Turcoman-style banquet scene with a ruler with big moustaches seated in a palatial interior, wearing a bright orange robe and a faceted gold helmet, being offered food and entertained by female attendants and musicians, set within gold rules and a border with stylised blue vegetal trellis on a white ground, mounted, glazed and framed, the folio 17cm x 13cm; and a similar composition in miniature painting style with a prince seated in a pavilion, the architecture and the golden vegetal scrolls on cobalt blue ground in the squinches of the polilobed cusped arch in line with Safavid models, set within red, white, gold and blue rules and a later light-blue marbled border with cusped medallions and saz leaf scrolls, mounted, glazed and framed, the folio 18.7cm x 13cm.
