A ROMANESQUE STYLE MARBLE CAPITAL ON COLUMN, POSSIBLY 13TH CENTURY

the marble capital with foliate and bud carved decoration, with square, rusticated top and circular base, raised on a verona marble column (restored) over a matching white marble base with circular body terminating in four foliate carved corners and square base,

the capital 18.5cm wide x 21cm high, the column 100cm high, the base 18.5cm wide and 13cm high, overall 134cm high

Provenance: Private UK collection. This column has been in the same family for a generation.
