A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK BY LAVASSORT OF PARIS

A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK BY LAVASSORT OF PARIS circa 1880, the case of square form with stepped top surmounted by a twin handled bowl, the sides with lion masks holding elongated handles with palmette finials, the front of the case with scrolling mount, supported on a rectangular base with a palmette border on two front paw feet and two rear bracket feet, the gilt dial with each hour in separate white enamel with Roman numerals, signed 'Ch. Levassort, Paris', the twin train movement with outside countwheel, striking the full and half hours on a bell, the backplate stamped 'C.L, A PARIS' and numbered '337', with pendulum and an associated winder, 34 cm high, 23 cm wide
